Jamaica Food

Jamaica food is a must to try while you are here. If you are the kind to sit back, relax and just enjoy the surrounding whether indoor or outdoor then I suppose you are pretty mellow. If you are into the hustle and bustle of a night club then there are restaurants and bars across Kingston that gives you the same level of enjoyment sometimes even more. If you are after jamaica food, there are many restaurants and bars in Kingston but there are a few that will see just about everyone at some point during the week or weekend.

If you are looking for local and some international cuisine and need internet access on the go then you may visit Cuddyz Sports Bar, my personal favourite. It has a busy atmosphere but still manages to make each customer feel like he or she is the only one or two there. It is a sports bar owned by former West Indies Cricketer Courtney Walsh so it has sports like appeal. The jamaica food is fantastic with a menu ranging from fine local and regional cuisine to delectable desserts.

There is not only dining but there is also a games night where the staff issues an assortment of games, these include board games, video games etc. Winners would get their meal for free. Cuddyz Sports Bar is located in New Kingston so it is within walking distance of the four major Hotels in that area, those being; Pegasus, Courtleigh, Wyndham Hotel and the Spanish Court Hotel. What’s even more is that is you thinking of dinner and dancing this would be a great spot to dine as there are two nightclubs within walking distance of the restaurant.

If you are yearning for a taste of home of rather than jamaica food then you can visit TGIF, which specialises in American and Italian cuisine as well as delectable desserts. This is a franchise of the popular restaurant in the U.S.A TGIF, there are few across the Caribbean and Jamaica has been one for the last several years. One main feature of this restaurant is that there is a smokers and non-smokers section. What’s even more is that TGIF is just across the street from the Bob Marley Museum so if happen to visit that destination you can stop by TGIF for lunch. It is just about 10 minutes from the nearest hotel in New Kingston.

Another major restaurant in the corporate area of Kingston is Ambrosia Restaurant; it is apart of the Acropolis Gaming and Casino franchise that is popular here. What makes this restaurant different is the vintage ambience you feel as enter. It is a great place to mingle on the weekends and what’s even more is that it is inside a casino, so after dining, if you are feeling then you play your hand at black jack, Russian roulette and many other games.

There are many more jamaica food experiences to indulge other than the three outlined above, these are just the more popular spots. There are countless locations most of which you can experience if time allows. For a more romantic dining experience there is Norma’s on the terrace located at Devon House; if you in the mood for Chinese then there is the beautiful Jade Garden and if you like to enjoy a little jazz with your dinner then there is Red Bone’s Cafe.
