Stoke-on-Trent Gardens and Parks
Nature lovers beware; Stoke-onTrent Gardens and Parks are rich in diversity and provide unforgettable experiences. Both young and old will find something amazing or adventurous as they explore the gardens, parks and wildlife.
Stoke-on-Trent Gardens and Parks
Trendham Estate is one of the essential destinations when visiting Stoke. The award winning Trendham Gardens have been restored. The growing collection of themed show gardens provides inspiration for anyone wanting to improve their garden. The garden also features a new circular lake walk, a hedge maze and a host of other attractions like narrow gauge railway and rowing boats. The Trendham Estate also contains the unique Monkey Forest and Aerial Extreme, a treetop adventure course.
The Biddulph Grange Garden is a celebrated Victorian themed garden with many surprises. The Chinese garden, geological gallery, tunnels and exotic plants from around the world wait to be discovered by the adventurous.
Swan on Westport Lake
Westport Lake is located next to the Trent and Mersey canal. It is a favourite stopover for canal boats. Visitors may take a gentle stroll around the lake and enjoy the large variety of birds which frequent the large water body. Picnic overlooking the lake watch the display provided by the swans, or take a brisk walk along the canal to the Harecastle Tunnel. See the excitement as boats negotiate this feature which has been in operation since 1777.
One of my favourite gardens is
Fenton Park. This park is lesser known, but provides you with an opportunity to relax and meditate in beautiful surroundings with fewer people to disturb you. Hanley Park is located next to the Staffordshire University. It provides a welcome break to busy student life. The Caldon canal passes through the park, providing added interest.
For anyone interested in wildlife, there are opportunities to observe various bird species, mammals, butterflies and moths. Stoke-on-Trent has 22 natural heritage sites competing for your patronage. They are:

Staffordshire has a number of other gardens worthy of a visit while travelling to Stoke-on-Trent. For rose lovers the renowned David Austin Rose Gardens offers the finest displays of English roses. There is another great parkland landscape at Weston Park. The adventurous can explore grottos and tunnels at Hawkstone Park Follies. Fine garden designs may be enjoyed at Dorothy Clive Gardens and Wollerton Old Hall.
The Ness Botanic Gardens and Birmingham Botanical Gardens have fine plant collections from all over the world. Delight in discovering exotic plants to use in your own garden.
